What is Simpler Recycling?

Simpler Recycling is the name of the new set of legislation introduced to simplify and transform recycling processes across England.

By 31st March 2025, all businesses and relevant non-domestic premises with 10 or more full-time employees must separate plastic, paper and card, glass, metals (cans, tins and foil) and food waste from general waste.

As well as making it easier to recycle waste, the new process aims to reduce landfill waste and tackle illegal waste activities in a bid to create a more sustainable and environmentally conscious society.

What do I need to do?

If you are a business with 10 or more full-time or equivalent employees, you’ll need to start separating recyclable materials from your general waste for collection by 31st March 2025.
